Mead

Something To Feed My Face

Mead is an ancient beverage, made from honey, water and yeast. Modern technology and manufacturing techniques have advanced to the point that spring water is easily accessible, we can pick a yeast strain that retains fruity flavours or a specific flavour profile, we can create a nutrition plan for a fermentation with an hourly breakdown of nutrient additions, in both organic and non organic compounds. Honey harvesters typically know what plants the majority of their Bees collected pollen from, and can use that information to inform people buying honey that the honey in a particular jar might have some hints of orange, avocado, specific woods, etc.

The possibilities for just those three simple ingredients are already great, but then we can add fruits, juices, herbs, spices, teas, the possibilities are endless!

Come along for the ride as we explore mead making techniques, equipment, recipes, consumption, and enjoyment of mead.
