Fountain Pens and Stationary

Aiding My Broken Brain

Something that I have heard is that writing something down, as in actually completing the ritual of picking up a pen and laying down ink on paper, helps you remember things. This is common for people who are studying, where writing things down on flash cards and quizzing yourself with them apparently helps with data retention. I haven’t personally found that helps me, but my written notes are definitely more intentional. There probably was a good reason for me to write them down.

I am also left handed and have a very sensitive to the idiosyncrasies of rollerball pens. I’d heard that a properly functioning fountain pen should be a smooth and enjoyable experience, so I figured it would be worth giving it a go.

So as a baby fountain pen user, I’ve been really enjoying it. Being able to play around with some really fancy pens and ink, and not having the same issues lefties can have with rollerballs, I really recommend giving it a go! To get the best experience with fountain pens, it is also recommended to use nice paper. Nice paper varies greatly and could have properties that are better for specific ink types, so the right paper is an entirely personal choice.

My partner is also joining me in the exploration of fountain pens and high quality stationary, so you can expect to see some content on my blog about the pens, inks, paper and misc stationary that we play around with!
